Verifying your identity at ICS

After you have sent us your credit card application, we set out to work for you. We will check if your details are complete and meet our conditions. You will also receive an email from ICS within 48 hours asking you to verify your identity. We will send this email from noreply@internet.icscards.nl.

The email could be on its way. You will not receive it right away. You will receive the email asking you to verify your identity within 48 hours after your application.

Sometimes our emails about verifying your identity end up in your spam folder. Therefore, always check your spam folder if you haven't received an email 48 hours after your application. We send our email from noreply@internet.icscards.nl.

You can verify your identity with a:

• Dutch driving licence
• European identity Card
• Passport

For all identity documents, it is important that they are valid on the day you verify your identity. Longer than that is not necessary.

Unfortunately, in that case we will have to cancel your application. We are not allowed to send you a credit card if we have not verified your identity. Find out more about our obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act(Wwft in Dutch).

You can verify your identity quickly and securely in the ANWB Creditcard app. No need to leave your home. You only need a smartphone or tablet and your valid ID. Just follow these steps:

1. Download the app
   Download the ANWB Creditcard app on your smartphone or tablet. You can find the app in the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Log in with your date of birth and verification code
   Open the app and click Verify your identity. Log in using your date of birth and personal verification code. You will find this code in the email we sent you.
3. Take a photo of your ID and yourself
   Follow the instructions on your screen. You will first take a photo of your ID. Then you will take a photo of yourself.

Photo of your ID:

• Place your ID on a neutral, preferably dark, surface.
• Don't use your smartphone or tablet case as a background.
• Use the camera at the back of your smartphone or tablet.
• Point your camera at your ID and place it within the frame on your screen.
• Please make sure your ID is clearly visible and your hand does not cover part of it.
• Pay attention to light in your photo. Make sure there are no reflections.
• As soon as your ID comes within the frame and the frame turns green, the photo is taken automatically. Do you see a red frame? Then the photo cannot be taken. Follow the instructions on your screen until the frame turns green.
• If you take the photo manually, make sure you take it straight above your ID.
• If you are using your passport, take a photo of the page that contains your photo.
• Make sure you take a photo of the original document. Do not photograph a copy of your ID. A photo of a screen or a photo of a photo is also not sufficient.

Photo of yourself:

• Use the front-facing camera on your smartphone or tablet.
• Point the camera at your face and make sure your face is within the frame.
• Is someone helping you? Make sure you don't accidentally take a photo of the person helping you.
• As soon as your face comes within the frame and the frame turns green, the photo is taken automatically. We will compare this photo to the one on your ID.
• A photo of a photo will not be approved.

It usually helps to close and reopen the app. If this doesn't help, delete the app and download it again. Or call us between 8.00 and 17.00 on +31 (0)20 - 6 600 401.

This is a good thing to be vigilant about. Always check that the sender's address is correct. Our emails on verifying your identity are sent from noreply@internet.icscards.nl. You can recognise scam emails as follows:

• The email is usually not personalised: it opens with something like 'dear customer' or 'dear Sir/Madam'
• The email asks you to act quickly
• You are threatened with consequences such as a fine or your credit card being blocked
• The email also contains a link that leads you to a fake website
• Your mail provider or spam filter usually already indicates that the email is spam

We use the photo of your identity document to verify your identity and to check your details. The photo allows us to check whether your ID is real and if it really belongs to you. We then store the photo as evidence that we verified your identity. We treat the photos you take and the other data that you share with us with care. Good to know: the photo you take of your ID, which we keep, will be watermarked. To ensure the document can only be used for you verifying your identity by ICS.

We will store the photos of your ID with the watermark and of yourself for as long as you are a customer with us. After that, we will store the photos for another seven years.
